About the role
We're on the lookout for a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor or Senior Survey Technician to join our Tauranga office. Supported by on the job training and professional support, this is a brilliant opportunity to join our Survey Team to deliver high quality solutions for our clients across a wide range of land development and civil projects.
Our award-winning team of surveyors and UAV pilots use the latest 3D high-definition laser scanners and drones to accurately capture and build digital models of the real world. You will be involved in topographical surveys, land transfer surveys, tenancy lease area surveys, construction set out, monitoring of ground and structures, laser scanning and more.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct field surveys and collect data using the latest surveying equipment and techniques.
- Analyse survey data and preparing detailed calculations and reports for submission.
- Regularly lead, prepare and assess viability of proposals and cost estimates for multidiscipline projects and tenders.
- Collaborate with Senior Surveyors and the Survey Manager to ensure accurate and timely completion of a diverse range of projects.
- Maintain and calibrate high-tech surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all fieldwork and office documentation.
- Provide operational support to the Survey Team by way of assisting with resource planning, project management and staff mentoring.
Your skills and experience
Whether you are an experienced Survey Technician, an LCS or a Cadastral Surveyor looking for structured progression towards licensing, we welcome you to apply or reach out for a discussion. Our ideal candidate will have:
- New Zealand Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or similar.
- Between 2-5+ years’ cadastral surveying experience in New Zealand, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Experience using modern surveying equipment and software (Total Stations, GNSS, drones, 12d Model, AutoCAD).
- A full NZ drivers’ license.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills plus the ability to establish collaborative relationships at multiple levels.
- Personal leadership, motivation and self-management skills.
