About the role

We’re on the lookout for a new Senior Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team. In this role, you'll work on the delivery of some of HG’s biggest projects. We have a varied pipeline of work including greenfield and brownfield residential development, infrastructure, commercial and industrial developments that shape the future of our local communities. 

You will:

• Provide technical expertise and design solutions to deliver a range of complex civil engineering projects from initial concept design through to construction completion.

• Ensure efficient project delivery while being hands-on with preliminary designs, supervising detailed designs, calculations, plan and on-site investigations.
• Maintain existing client relationships and contribute towards business development initiatives such as identifying opportunities and writing proposals to enhance HG’s future project prospects.
• Guide and coach junior team members in an environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements within our industry and contribute towards the adoption of new technologies to enhance our digital intelligence capabilities.
• Play a key role in shaping better urban development for a diverse range of public and private clients across Aotearoa.

About you

Whether you are already an experienced Senior Engineer or looking to take the next step in your career, we welcome you to apply or reach out for a discussion. Our ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of New Zealand-based Land Development experience within complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
• CPEng status preferred (or on a pathway to becoming chartered)

• Proficiency in either 12D or Civil 3D design software

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills plus the ability to establish collaborative relationships at multiple levels.
• Personal leadership, motivation, and self-management skills.
