We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Designer to join our Land Development team in Auckland.  With an uptick in workload and some exciting project wins, we have a strengthening pipeline and a need to grow our great team. 

Working alongside some of HG’s leading experts, you will work on a range of major land development projects, alongside significant commercial and industrial opportunities.  If you’re ready to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead civil designs for land development projects using Civil 3D and/or 12D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local standards and codes.

• Oversee the preparation of design reports, technical specifications, calculations, tender documents and construction drawings.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.

• Conduct site inspections, feasibility assessments, and provide technical input during construction phases.

• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, councils, and other stakeholders.

• Contribute towards business development initiatives such as identifying opportunities, bid preparation and proposals.

• Guide and coach junior team members in an environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field

• 6-8+ years New Zealand based experience within similar multi-disciplinary environments.

• CPEng is an advantage or working towards chartership.

• Experience in AutoCAD / Civil 3D / 12D design

• Knowledge of local council codes, guidelines and consenting processes.

• Personal leadership, motivation, and self-management skills.
